Active substance
Micronized albendazole.
Indications
A broad spectrum antihelmintic for the control of mature and immature forms of gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, tapeworms and adult liver fluke in cattle.
Dosage and route of administration
Roundworms, lungworms, and tapeworms: 7.5 mg of Albendazole/ kg body weight in a single dose.
Fasciola: 10 mg of Albendazole/ kg body weight, in a single dose.
Recently introduced animals: One dose must be administered upon arrival at the farm and the animals must be prevented from going out to pasture for 8 hours.
Calves: treat one month and a half after going out to pasture; repeating the treatment every month and a half.
Adult cattle: treat in autumn and after stalling. Diarrhoea associated with Ostertagia spp. may appear in winter. In these cases, treat twice, leaving an interval of 4 nights between treatments. Repeat in spring and at the end of summer.
For oral administration, only using duly calibrated dosing equipment. To ensure administration of the correct dose, live weight must be determined as accurately as possible; the precision of the dosing device must be checked.
Withdrawal period
Meat and offal: 14 days. Milk: 4 days.
